A letter from our Executive Director

Bonjour, Lady Liberty Academy Charter School Family and Friends!

My name is Ms. Ashaki E. Goodall, and I am Lady Liberty Academy’s Executive Director.  This is my second year with the school, and I am very honored to be a part of such a special community of learners, families, and educators. Before coming to Lady Liberty Academy, I lived and worked in Washington, DC for over 20+ years.  I have held a number of positions in education over the years.  Whether working in the classroom providing direct ELA/social studies instruction to middle and high school students in public or private school, providing guidance and programming support as a charter school building or District administrator, or creating policy and overseeing the fiscal management of millions of federal grant dollars as a State Education Agency officer, my mission is to create caring and sustainable communities that promote the importance and value of education.  A few years ago I read a book, The  Cathedral Within: Transforming Your Life by Giving Something Back.  Like the visionaries described in this memoir, I “share a single desire to create something that endures [like the cathedral builders of an earlier time].”  I see the opportunity to serve the students and families of Lady Liberty Academy as a chance to influence the future of our students by helping them to reach their fullest academic and social potential.
