Super S.T.E.A.M. Wednesdays

Lady Liberty Academy is a S.T.E.A.M. school. In addition to infusing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics activities into our daily core academic lessons within the classroom, one Wednesday a month we have a Super S.T.E.A.M. day. On Super S.T.E.A.M. Wednesdays students are involved all day in a specifically themed S.T.E.A.M activity within their classrooms or around the school. These monthly themed S.T.E.A.M. activities are not only fun, but expose students to real world experiences that involve problem solving and critical thinking skills.

The Super S.T.E.A.M. lessons are created by our Super S.T.E.A.M. Team of teachers.  The Super S.T.E.A.M. Team includes classroom teachers from all grade levels and our performing arts and visual arts teachers. These individuals collaborate to create appropriate and rigorous lessons for students in all grade levels. In addition to creating lessons, the Super S.T.E.A. M. Team also invites guest speakers and plan trips for our students to gain further exposure to the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

We are also excited to have Brick City Bricks 4 Kidz on site for our Super S.T.E.A.M. Wednesdays. Bricks 4 Kidz conducts In-School Workshops with selected grade level students each month. Students participate in 90 minute workshops that include hands on activities that ensure students are problem solving and using their critical thinking skills. These workshops also allow our students to collaborate with their peers in order to complete the given tasks.

Our focus on S.T.E.A.M. does not just end on Super S.T.E.A.M. Wednesday. Students continue to learn about, understand, and incorporate S.T.E.A.M. concepts in their homework assignments, class trips, daily lessons, and in-school performances. Our goal at Lady Liberty Academy is continue to help students recognize the importance of S.T.E.A.M. and how Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math are a part of their everyday lives and all of our futures.
