Dear Parents and Guardians,
My name is Ms. Janene E. Reed, and I am honored as well as excited to serve as your first PTA President for the 2017-2018 school year. Working alongside of me are:
- Ms. Shaunda Owens, Vice- President
- Ms. Samnatha Idlett, Secretary
- Mrs. Annie McNeal, Treasurer
We are grateful to all the amazing teachers and parents who are involved with the PTA and contribute their time and talent in many ways, big and small.
Many opportunities lie ahead and we are eager to get started! The PTA will give parents an opportunity to be engaged in their children's school life. Research shows that in schools where parents are involved are schools where students have a greater chance for success. This is evidenced by higher test scores, more consistent attendance, and a more positive school culture and climate. As parents and guardians it is important we show OUR children that we value education through OUR active involvement in Lady Liberty Academy Charter School.
We encourage you to attend a PTA meeting and a monthly Board meeting or volunteer on a PTA committee. Participate in all facets of Lady Liberty Academy. There are many ways in which you can be involved. You can volunteer you time, ideas, and energy at events such as our Annual Toys-4-Tots Giveaway, or help with a PTA Dinner, or simply collect Boxtops for Education to help support our school's fundraising efforts.
The PTA will work with Lady Liberty Academy to improve communication between the school and our parent community. We hope you will visit our school website often for updates and news.
On behalf of the PTA and Lady Liberty Academy's leadership team and all of the members and volunteers who give their time so freely and enthusiastically, I thank you all for your support. If at any time during the school year you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Let's have a great year!
